A Sunshine-Filled Micro Wedding at Bridgford Hall, West Bridgford | Libby & Sam

Micro weddings have a special place in my heart. Intimate, relaxed celebrations focus entirely on what matters most. As a UK micro wedding photographer, I love documenting small weddings in a natural, storytelling way.

A Love Story Years in the Making

Libby and Sam met at school, making their wedding day feel all the more special. Sam proposed during a trip to York for Libby's birthday, a romantic setting in one of the UK’s most beautiful historic cities. That sense of thoughtfulness and quiet romance flowed naturally into their wedding day.

Sunshine, Style and a Vintage Arrival

Sam arrived ahead of the ceremony, giving us time for a few relaxed moments before Libby's arrival. Libby looked incredible in her fitted white ASOS wedding dress, modern, elegant and perfectly suited to a micro wedding celebration.

She arrived at Bridgford Hall in a vintage wedding car, roof down thanks to the glorious sunshine. It was one of those moments that instantly sets the tone for the day, unhurried, joyful and full of excitement.

My First Wedding at Bridgford Hall

This was my first time photographing a wedding at Bridgford Hall, and it did not disappoint. Set within park surroundings, the location offers lovely green backdrops just moments from the ceremony room, ideal for relaxed couple portraits without needing to travel anywhere else.

When the ceremony ends, guests line up outside on the steps ready for the confetti moment. This means the couple briefly exit an empty ceremony room, giving me the chance to capture a quiet, just married moment with no guests around. It is a small window of calm before the celebrations continue and it makes for a really special photograph.

Confetti, Connection and Natural Moments

Once outside, there was plenty of confetti, always a favourite. With such a short amount of coverage, the focus was on genuine interaction, natural portraits and the story unfolding as it happened, rather than anything overly staged.

This is exactly why micro weddings work so well, especially for couples who value meaning over scale and want their day documented by a micro wedding photographer who keeps things relaxed and unobtrusive.
