December Wedding at The Ashes Barns, Endon
December brought another beautiful wedding at The Ashes Barns, and it was such a joy to be part of the day alongside Deb from Stott Weddings.
Originally planned for 2020, this wedding had been long awaited and it made the day feel even more meaningful. Alongside the ceremony, there was also a special naming ceremony for the couple’s baby girl, which added such a personal and emotional layer to the celebrations.
As the rain meant plans had to shift slightly, the confetti moment took place indoors and honestly, it was incredible. The light, the energy, the joy… it all came together to create something really special.
Guests were welcomed with mulled wine and canapés, bringing that cosy, festive December atmosphere into the barns. It felt relaxed, warm, and full of genuine connection exactly the kind of day I love to photograph.
The speeches were heartfelt and full of personality, telling the story of the couple in such an honest and natural way. Moments like these are what make documentary wedding photography so meaningful to me.
As I left after the speeches, the day ended with a flurry of snow one of those quiet, fleeting moments that just stays with you.
I always love photographing weddings at The Ashes Barns. The team truly look after everyone and create such a calm, welcoming environment, which allows couples to simply enjoy their day.
A Note on Second Shooting
I often work both as a lead photographer and as a second shooter alongside other incredible photographers. Being part of such a supportive network means we’re always there for each other, something that ultimately benefits every couple we work with.
Whether I’m photographing a wedding on my own or alongside someone else, my approach and work ethic remain exactly the same: focused, thoughtful and centred around telling your story naturally.
