An Intimate Micro Wedding at R C St Mary & St Modwen | Alexandra & James

There’s something incredibly special about a wedding where every single guest matters deeply and Alexandra and James’ celebration was exactly that.

With just eight guests in attendance, their ceremony at R C St Mary and St Modwen felt wonderfully personal and heartfelt. James arrived alongside his best man, while Alexandra made a beautiful entrance with her mum and brother, who had flown in from Canada for the occasion.

In a truly meaningful moment, Alexandra chose to walk up the aisle on her own — calm, confident, and glowing.

The ceremony itself lasted around two hours, filled with reflection, warmth, and anticipation before the couple could greet their closest loved ones as newlyweds.

A Bride with a Truly Unique Style

Alexandra looked absolutely stunning in a gown she designed herself with a dressmaker — a one-of-a-kind piece that reflected her personality perfectly.

She completed her look with:

  • A bouquet of classic red and white roses

  • Bold red lipstick

  • A mid-length veil

  • Her natural black curls flowing beautifully

Elegant, confident, and unmistakably her.

Following the ceremony, we travelled to The Riverside in Branston for portraits. With a three-hour coverage window, the focus was simple: meaningful time together.

Originally, the plan had been portraits in Stratford-upon-Avon but a surprise celebratory meal arranged by the groom’s mum meant a change of plans just days before. As it turns out, the new location was perfect.

The venue offers a beautiful access path to the River Trent, where long grasses create soft, romantic backdrops. Add in the charming bridge and garden pagoda, and there was no shortage of beautiful portrait spots.

While family members relaxed and chatted, Alexandra and James enjoyed rare, uninterrupted time together laughing, talking and simply soaking in the moment. Their connection was effortless to photograph, requiring very little direction. Pure joy, natural affection and genuine calm.

A Sweet Ending

We finished coverage with the couple cutting their heart-shaped “Just Married” cake, a sweet and simple ending to a day centred on what truly matters.

A Canadian bride now calling Burton home, a welcoming couple, and a celebration that proved weddings don’t need scale to feel extraordinary.

Just love. Just meaning. Just them.
