Hanbury Barns Wedding Photography - Staffordshire
There’s something about blogging that makes me feel like everything should be in perfect order… but honestly? It really doesn’t matter. What does matter is sharing beautiful weddings and this one absolutely deserves its moment.
This was a late winter wedding at the beginning of March 2022 and my very first visit to Hanbury Barns. I had the pleasure of documenting the day alongside my lovely friend Deb from Stott Weddings and from the moment I arrived, I knew this venue was something special.
Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to return many times but this wedding will always be a favourite.
A Beautiful Early Spring Wedding at Hanbury Barns
Hanbury Barns is such a charming and picturesque Staffordshire wedding venue. It offers a truly unique setting, whether you’re planning to hold your ceremony there or arrive after a church wedding to celebrate.
The barn itself is full of rustic character, with exposed wooden beams and a warm, intimate layout that creates such a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. It’s the kind of space that feels instantly welcoming, not just for couples, but for everyone there to celebrate with them.
Set within beautiful countryside, the surrounding fields and rolling landscape provide the most stunning backdrop for natural, storytelling photography.
Why I Love Photographing Weddings at Hanbury Barns
One of the things I love most about Hanbury Barns is how versatile it is.
The ceremony space works perfectly for group photos if the weather isn’t on our side (which, let’s face it, can happen here in the UK!). It means we can still create beautiful, relaxed images without worrying about the rain.
It’s also a venue that allows couples to really make the day their own. Every wedding I’ve photographed here has felt completely different; personal, meaningful and full of genuine moments.
A Sunshine-Filled March Wedding
Despite being early March, this day was full of sunshine, one of those crisp, bright days where the light just keeps getting better as the afternoon rolls into evening.
I began the day with groom preparations and capturing all the thoughtful details around the venue before the celebrations unfolded. From there, I documented everything through to the speeches—real moments, natural interactions, and all the little in-between memories that make a wedding day so special.
And I have to say, Lydia’s dress and bouquet were absolutely stunning. Elegant, timeless and perfect for the season.
