There are some venues that simply stay with you and Homme House is undoubtedly one of them. From the moment you arrive, there’s an undeniable sense of quiet elegance. Every corner feels considered, every view effortlessly beautiful.

This was my first time photographing a wedding here and it couldn’t have been a more perfect introduction set in December, with the soft romance of winter and the added magic of a beautifully dressed Christmas tree inside the house.

I had the pleasure of second shooting for Stott Weddings, having first worked alongside Debbie earlier in November. On this occasion, I covered groom preparations through to the speeches, capturing those natural, in-between moments that often become the most meaningful.

Effortless Elegance

Homme House lends itself so naturally to a refined yet relaxed wedding day. The gardens are simply stunning—even in winter and the Folly provides the most incredible backdrop for portraits. It’s a venue that doesn’t need embellishment; its beauty speaks for itself.

And then there was Freya’s dress timeless, elegant and effortlessly sophisticated. The kind of gown that feels completely at home in a setting like this, complementing the atmosphere rather than competing with it.

A Relaxed, Storytelling Approach

What made this day particularly special was the ease of it all. Nothing felt rushed or over-structured. Instead, the day unfolded naturally, allowing genuine moments to take centre stage—laughter, conversation, and those quiet interactions that often go unnoticed.

This is exactly what I love about documentary wedding photography. It’s not about staging moments, it’s about preserving them as they happen, honestly and beautifully.

Although I was second shooting on this occasion, my approach remains the same when I photograph weddings as the lead focused on storytelling, atmosphere and capturing your day as it truly felt.

A Beautiful Afternoon Celebration

The wedding breakfast was a beautifully curated afternoon tea, adding to the relaxed, intimate feel of the day. It was such a thoughtful touch, and one that perfectly suited both the setting and the season.

It was also incredibly appreciated by the suppliers those small gestures never go unnoticed and always add to the overall experience of a wedding day.

A Venue I’d Love to Return To

Homme House is, quite simply, a dream venue. Elegant without being overwhelming, refined yet welcoming—it offers the perfect balance for couples who want a relaxed but elevated wedding day.

I would absolutely love to return here again.

Planning Your Own Wedding?

If you’re drawn to a relaxed, storytelling approach where your day is captured naturally, without hours of staged portraits, I’d love to hear from you.

Whether you’re planning a countryside celebration in Herefordshire, the Midlands, or beyond, my focus is always the same: creating timeless imagery that reflects how your day truly felt.
