A Relaxed Country Wedding at Aswarby Rectory, Lincolnshire

Tucked away in the Lincolnshire country side, Aswarby Rectory has been gracefully restored to create a beautiful, authentic space in which you can gather with the ones you cherish the most.

During 2021, I was fortunate to photograph at so many beautiful venues, both as a second photographer and for my own couples. One that has really stayed with me is Aswarby Rectory in Lincolnshire, a truly unique and characterful setting for a wedding day.

This was my first time photographing here, working alongside Ryan Jarvis Photography and it immediately became a firm favourite. It has such a relaxed, outdoor feel to it perfect for couples who want something a little different and deeply personal.

Becky and Dan were an absolute joy to photograph. They’re true country people, passionate about the outdoors and proud owners of their gundogs. We instantly had common ground, I could happily spend all day photographing working Labradors and Springer Spaniels, so being part of a wedding that reflected that lifestyle felt incredibly special.

The whole day was beautifully personal. Becky walked herself down the aisle, which is always such a powerful and memorable moment, and did so with the biggest smile. The ceremony felt intimate and heartfelt, with personal vows that made it even more meaningful.

The setting itself added so much character, from the simple wooden benches that gave a nostalgic, almost old-school feel, to the long trestle tables laid out for the wedding breakfast. I always love this style of layout; it brings everyone together and creates such a warm, relaxed atmosphere.

One of my favourite moments from the day was Becky giving the first speech, something I’m seeing more often now and always love to capture. It added another layer of personality and authenticity to the day.

As the evening drew in, the celebrations ended with sparklers, the perfect, joyful finish to such a thoughtfully planned wedding.
