A Rainy December Wedding at The Pumping House, Ollerton

“Located in the ancient woodlands of Sherwood Forest, The Pumping House is a gem of Victorian industrial architecture.”

The Pumping House in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, is a unique and stunning industrial venue just by the edge of Sherwood Forest. I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding here the day before Christmas Eve in 2022, working alongside the talented Holly Whitehall Photography.

Despite the wet and rainy December weather, the day was filled with laughter, love, and joyful moments. I started by photographing the groomsmen getting ready at the venue, then documented the day as it unfolded. My approach is authentic and storytelling-focused, with a few fun, directed shots to keep the vibe relaxed and natural.

The Pumping House is such a striking venue that even indoor shots captured its character beautifully. From the cosy, intimate moments to the epic celebrations, every detail of the day was a joy to document.

Rain doesn’t have to ruin your wedding photos. In fact, it can create magical, moody, and intimate imagery that sunny days sometimes can’t. This wedding is a perfect example that your memories will be stunning no matter the weather.

I can’t wait for the chance to photograph another wedding at this beautiful venue. If you’re planning a Pumping House wedding, I would love to capture your day authentically, naturally and joyfully.
