There are weddings where you can feel the happiness from the moment you arrive, and Eloise and Jonathan’s beautiful Whistle Barns wedding in Derbyshire was exactly that.
Set against the stunning countryside surroundings of Whistle Barns near Heanor, this wedding was full of everything I love about photographing weddings is the genuine laughter, heartfelt moments, beautiful surroundings and the little moments in between that make each celebration completely unique.
From the elegance of Eloise’s beautiful wedding dress and the timeless black tuxedos worn by Jonathan and his groomsmen, to champagne sprays, a peaceful canal walk and speeches that had everyone laughing, this was a day filled with love, connection and unforgettable memories.

This was my first time visiting Whistle Barns, and it really is a wonderful Derbyshire wedding venue. Surrounded by countryside, it offers a beautiful backdrop for couples wanting a relaxed and stylish barn wedding. I was once again assisting my lovely friend Holly Jo Photography, who the day before, asked if I would come along for some additional support. I’m so glad I did!
The venue has such a lovely atmosphere combining rustic charm with elegant touches, making it perfect for couples who want their wedding day to feel personal, relaxed and full of character.
A day full of laughter, romance and unforgettable moments
From the excitement of getting ready through to the celebrations later in the day, Eloise and Jonathan’s wedding was filled with moments that reminded me why I love wedding photography.
There were champagne sprays, huge smiles, emotional hugs, hilarious speeches and plenty of laughter shared between family and friends.
The canal walk provided a beautiful opportunity to step away from the celebrations for a few quiet moments together, capturing those natural interactions and the connection between the newlyweds.
For me, these are the moments that tell the true story of a wedding day such as the laughter, the friendships, the emotions and the memories that couples will treasure for years to come.
