Quorn Country Hotel Wedding Photographer | Charlotte & Josh’s Autumn Wedding in Leicestershire

A relaxed autumn wedding in the heart of Quorn

Charlotte and Josh’s wedding at the Quorn Country Hotel in the quaint town of Quorn, Leicestershire was the perfect blend of warmth, autumn colour and relaxed celebration with family and friends.

The couple had actually known each other vaguely from school before meeting again properly in their early twenties in their local pub, proof that sometimes love has a funny way of bringing people back together.

Their wedding day felt just like that: relaxed, joyful and filled with genuine moments.

Morning preparations at Quorn Country Hotel

My day began bright and early at 9am, capturing the final couple of hours of bridal preparations before the 11am ceremony.

Charlotte spent the morning getting ready surrounded by her bridal party, with hair beautifully styled by Sophie Iliffe and makeup by Glam by Becky.

Her wedding dress was a stunning Maggie Sottero gown from Brides of Ashby, in a soft champagne tone with a delicate lace overlay. It suited Charlotte perfectly and she looked absolutely incredible.

There was such a lovely calm atmosphere in the room, the kind that makes those morning photographs feel very natural and relaxed.

A beautiful ceremony room full of light

I had only photographed at Quorn Country Hotel once before, around 7 or 8 years ago, when I captured bridal preparations before heading off to another venue for the ceremony. So it was lovely to return and spend the whole day there this time.

One thing that immediately stood out again was the ceremony room. It’s an absolute sun trap, filled with beautiful natural light, and it has the most striking mural backdrop, a wonderful setting for photographs.

It really makes the space feel special and gives the ceremony images a unique feel.

Autumn colours and thoughtful details

Charlotte and Josh chose a beautiful autumn colour palette for the day.

Josh wore a beige suit with burgundy accessories, which worked perfectly for the season, while the bridesmaids wore elegant long burgundy dresses.

One particularly meaningful detail was the flowers — they were all created by Charlotte’s mother-in-law, which made them even more special and personal to the day.

Natural wedding photography around the grounds

After the ceremony and congratulations, we moved into the part of the day where I simply document the celebrations as they naturally unfold, capturing conversations, laughter and all the little moments that tell the real story of a wedding day.

Charlotte had carefully chosen a small selection of family portraits, which we completed fairly quickly so everyone could get back to enjoying the day.

The grounds at Quorn Country Hotel have some lovely spots for photographs, so we explored these together during two short portrait sessions:

  • Once after the formal family photos

  • Again later in the day after the speeches when the light had softened beautifully

Charlotte was incredibly confident in front of the camera (being a teacher probably helps!) and Josh was a little more reserved but that combination worked perfectly and kept everything feeling relaxed and natural.

A sparkler exit to end the evening

As the evening celebrations began, guests were invited outside for a sparkler moment.

Working with the venue manager, we managed to get everyone lined up perfectly. Charlotte and Josh simply did their own thing, walking through the sparklers while I captured the moment as it unfolded.

It was such a lovely, joyful way to bring everyone together before the evening party began.

Dancing and celebrations

Not long afterwards the party got started, and I stayed to capture the first dance and some dancing afterwards before finishing coverage shortly after 9pm.

It had been a long day just over 12 hours of photography — but thankfully the venue is fairly local for me.

I’ll also say that the team at Quorn Country Hotel looked after me incredibly well throughout the day, which always makes such a difference when you’re working a long wedding.

Charlotte and Josh, thank you again for inviting me to capture such a special day.
